The UC Davis Aggies compete in NCAA Division I across multiple conferences, including the Big West Conference, the Big Sky Conference (football only), and the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation. In its first year of full Division I status, 11 UC Davis teams qualified for NCAA post-season competition. The official school mascot is the Mustang, but students at UC Davis are referred to as Aggies in honor of the school's origins in agricultural studies.
